Donald Sawyer, Jr. is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Art from Winston-Salem State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

He has a Masters of Fine Arts from Western Carolina University. Don’s interest is in figurative painting. His influences are Kara Walker, Kerry James Marshall and Henry Taylor.
